The period between 1 and 3 years of age. Two of the most outstanding developmental milestones of these years are walking and rapid language development. Mobility and language are cornerstones that enable toddlers to be independent. These unique developmental events are significant for children as well as the staff of ASDC.

  • have a vocabulary of about 50 words by 18 months
  • use one object for another – representational thought
  • love to encourage in pretend play
  • want to do things for themselves – independence from parents
  • love to interact with others
  • play a very active role in interactions

Motor Development is essential for infants and toddlers because it contributes to the intellectual and skill development. Motor development plays a major role in social and behavioral expectations.
